  • RTI-3

    The RTI-3 is a ready to install sensor, temperature transmitter and thermowell assembly for surface measurements. This assembly supports our flexible tempearture sensor, the WORM¾, and can mount directly to tanks, pipes, motors, compressors, valves, reactors, wells or anywhere else a temperature measurement is needed, eliminating errors caused by influences external to the process. Precise engineering and solid, sturdy construction allow these assemblies to endure the harshest plant conditions and fi eld environments.

    Delivering simple installation and removal, our versatile, spring-loaded, fl exible sensor trims-to-length providing quick and easy installation in a wide range of temperature measurement applications. With other sensors, such as straight sensors, you have to remove the connection head, and sometimes assembly components, to install the sensor. The WORM slides right through the connection head port, and into the assembly, without removing any assembly components. The WORM bends to accommodate awkward mounting positions and locations. Because the solid sheath portion of the WORM is only 1-1/2″ long, it is totally embedded in the thermowell and ensures that no outside influences are affecting the temperature measurement.

    Features;

    Multiple mounting possibilities. Clamp, bolt or weld in place or use our magnetic MPAD anywhere a skin (surface) temperature measurement is needed.
    Universal temperature transmitter options. Ready-to-install assemblies come with a choice of our universal PC Programmable, Smart HART®, and Fieldbus Temperature Transmitters (assemblies without transmitters are also available).

    SFY

    The SFY Functional Safety SIL 3 capable Frequency-to-DC Transmitter with Display monitors frequency, period, high or low pulse width, and contact closure signals. It then converts the input signal to a proportional, input-to-output isolated 4-20mA output ready for direct interface with a Safety System, readout instrument, recorder, PLC, DCS, SCADA system. The 2-wire (loop-powered) SFY is ideal for use in your Safety Instrumented System (SIS) in a wide range of process and factory automation monitoring applications:

  • SPA2-IS

    SPA2 IS

    The universal SPA2 IS Programmable Limit Alarm Trips provide on/off control, warn of unwanted process conditions, alarm on rate-of-change and provide emergency shutdown. Very versatile, they accept signal inputs from transmitters and temperature sensors that are located in hazardous areas where the method of protection implemented by the plant or facility is Intrinsic Safety. The SPA2 IS includes intrinsically-safe field connections which provide the necessary protection typically afforded by a galvanically isolated intrinsically-safe barrier.

    Dual and Quad Alarm Trip Outputs:
    The 4-wire (line/mains-powered) SPA2 provides two or four independent and individually-configurable alarm relay outputs when a monitored process variable falls outside of user-set high and/or low limits. This is typically used to activate a warning light, annunciator, bell, pump, motor or shutdown system.

    Features:

    Universal plant standard. With programmable input/output parameters, and “Universal” DC or AC power input, there’s no need to stock dozens of different alarm trips.
    20-bit input resolution. Delivers industrybest digital accuracy for both sensor (RTD and thermocouple) and analog (current/voltage) inputs.
    Site- and PC-Programmable. Featuring security password protection, the SPA2 offers the choice of using front panel pushbuttons or our FREE Windows®-based Intelligent PC Configuration Software for fast and simple set up.

  • SSX-SAFETY-SERIES-ISOLATOR-AND-SPLITTER

    SSX Safety Series Isolators and Splitters

    SSX Safety Series Isolators and Splitters provide isolation and signal conversion for your SIS (Safety Instrumented System) needs. These units protect and enhance loops and also pass valuable HART® data from the field transmitter to host systems and vice-versa.

    Isolate your SIS from your Basic Process Control System or monitoring system so disconnections or failures to these secondary systems don’t affect your safety system. FMEDA (Failure Mode Effects and Diagnostic Analysis) reports are available with the required safety data to ensure that risk reduction requirements are met.

    With built-in HART pass-through technology you can rest assured that when your loops use HART transmitters that critical and valuable HART diagnostic, process, and calibration information can be read on either side of the SSX/SST. Most all other isolators block and “strip off” the HART signal.

    Features:
    • exida certified IEC 61508:2010. exida has certified the SSX/SST for use in an SIS up to SIL 3 in monitor mode, where only the input circuit is part of the safety function. For single use mode, the SSX/SST is approved for use in an SIS up to SIL 2.
    • Comprehensive FMEDA certified safety data. Upon request, exida-certified FMEDA data is provided to be used by a functional safety practitioner to determine the SST’s and SSX’s applicability in specific safety-related applications.
    • Valuable HART data not lost. Both the SSX and SST pass critical HART data to asset management systems, programming devices or host systems.
    • Split signals between two locations. The 4-Wire SST takes in one signal and gives you two fully isolated outputs that can be taken to two separate receiving devices. This facilitates maintenance on either output loop without losing the signal on the other output loop.
    • RFI/EMI Protection. Standard 20V/m protection offered to protect against harmful effects of radio frequency and electromagnetic interference.
    • Transmitter excitation. The 4-wire SST is capable of providing loop power to a 2-wire transmitter that is connected to its input.
    • Loop Maintenance Zener Diode Option. Allows the SSX and SST to be removed from the loop for maintenance without interrupting your safety function.

    The STZ is a Functional Safety, Dual Input, Smart HART® temperature transmitter that can configure quickly and easily to accept a wide array of sensor and analog devices. These 2-wire transmitters provide an isolated and linear 4-20mA output proportional to the input. The signal is ready for direct interface with HART or non-HART based Safety System, DCS, PLC and other computer0based SCADA systems. Mounting choices include field enclosures, compact connection heads and a high-density, DIN-style housing.

    Part of Moore Industries’ FS Functional Safety Series, the SIL 2 and SIL 3 capable STZ Functional Safety Dual Input Smart HART® Temperature Transmitters for your SIS (Safety Instrumented System) configures quickly and easily to accept a single or dual input from a wide array of sensors and analog devices located in hazardous and nonhazardous areas:

  • TCS

    The TCS Temperature Concentrator System substantially reduces the cost of transmitting multiple temperature sensor measurements in general purpose and hazardous area applications by “concentrating” up to 32 signals onto one network.

    The TCS quickly configures to accept any combination of RTD, T/C, mV and resistance/ potentiometer signal inputs. The TCS converts the inputs to the HART® digital communications protocol, and transmits the data long distances from the field to the control room, on an economical HART digital data link.

    Features Include:

    Substantially reduce hardware, wire, installation and I.S. barrier costs. The TCS eliminates the need to install a dedicated transmitter and twisted wire pair (or expensive sensor extension wires) for each measurement. Only one I.S. barrier is needed to support up to 16 temperature points in intrinsically-safe applications.
    Installs in hazardous areas*. Intrinsically-safe design allows the TCM Temperature Concentrator Module to be safely installed in any Class I, II, III, Division 1 (Zone 0/1) hazardous area.

  • The WORM  temperature sensor allows you to replace restrictive, straight sensor probles. Ideal for hockey-puck, connection head and dual-sided enclosures, this flexible sensor can bend right through the top or face of the enclosure. It slides through the enclosure’s conduit port, and into (or out of) the thermowell without having to remove the enclosure or any assembly components.

    WORM Temperature Sensor Features:
    • Universal, trims to thermowell length. There’s no need to stock an expensive array of different sensor lengths. With a quick measurement and a simple trim-to-length, the WORM handles nearly every thermowell assembly.
