Conductivity Analyzers

BBP offers Yokogawa conductivity analyzers suitable for measuring the two most common conductivity measurement methods: contacting and inductive (also known as toroidal or electrodeless). Our conductivity analyzers provide high precision measurement and are built to withstand the harshest applications, requiring minimum maintenance and helping you achieve increased efficiency and reduced operating costs.

  • 2-Wire Dual Channel Transmitter/Analyzer FLEXA

    The model FLEXA® two-wire analyzer (FLEXA 202) is used for continuous on-line measurements in industrial applications. It offers an option for single or dual sensor measurement, making it the most flexible 2-wire analyzer available. The model FLEXA® modular-designed series analyzer offers 4 parameter choices – pH/ORP (oxidation-reduction potential), contacting conductivity (SC), inductive conductivity (ISC) or dissolved oxygen (DO) – with the respective sensor module.

    Support of Up to Two Sensors

    Through the installation of up to two sensors, FLXA202 realizes interruption-free measurement even during maintenance. For dual sensor measurement, the sensor modules must be the same parameter – pH/ORP and pH/ORP, SC and SC, and DO and DO. Dual sensor measurement offers additional functionalities including a variety of calculated data from the two measuring parameters, as well as, the option to program the analyzer as a redundant system.

    Advanced Functions

    With the FLXA202, one analyzer can accept any of four types of measurements: pH/ORP, Contacting Conductivity (SC), Inductive Conductivity (ISC) and Dissolved Oxygen (DO)Sensors with self-diagnostics capabilities. Additional functions include:

    • Continuous measurement of sensor impedance, asymmetric potential, and slope, and continuous monitoring for electrode contamination/damage, burnout, and decline in measurement liquid level (ex. pH Analyzer)
    • Online Sensor Wellness checking for predictive maintenance

    Clear Touch Panel Display for Improved Operability

    The FLEXA series analyzer provides improved operability with intuitive touchscreen operation, featuring a clear display and user-friendly indication with 12 languages. A quick setup menu for immediate measurement and a display of sensor status and estimated maintenance time improve efficiency. The interactive screen is housed in a robust aluminum die-cast housing (FLXA202) or a plastic construction (FLXA21).

    Modular Design for Increased Scalability

    The FLEXA™ series analyzer features a modular design with replaceable sensor modules, enabling the construction of a variety of systems. Users can opt to do without a display and can also select the case material (plastic or stainless steel).

  • Percent Concentration Analyzer

    The ISC450 is designed to measure specific conductivity by using the inductive conductivity method. This method is especially suitable for high conductivity measurements. The analyzer works with a sensor that has two, built-in toroidal transformers. AAn AC current induces a voltage in the process sample, giving it its own current. The strength of this current is proportional to the conductivity of the sample following Ohm’s law.

    ISC450 Features:

    • Preloaded calibration methods according to OIML* recommendations
    • Preloaded matrices for most common electrolytes
    • Accuracy of 0.5% plus 1 µS/cm from 0 to 2000 mS/cm with one cell constant
    • Two ranges with two temperature compensation methods can be used for different fluids measured with the same sensor

    ACCURACY
    •Yokogawa uses smart preamplifiers with self-tuning capabilities to assure high accuracies at every
    point of the range
    •Accuracy is in engineering units or percent of measured value rather than the traditional percent
    full-scale specifications

    DIAGNOSTICS
    •EXAxt 450 features self-diagnostics. The watchdog timer checks continuously the integrity of the
    signal processing and firmware routines
    •The Model 450 monitors the sensors in-line to prevent process control problems should sensor
    failure or fouling occur.

    INSTRUCTIONS
    •The EXAxt 450 software interface minimizes the need to use the Instruction Manual
    •All information about configuration, calibration, and troubleshooting is displayed in plain English
    •In addition to English, the user can choose German, French, Italian or Spanish

    MAINTENANCE
    •Model 450 maintenance is quick and simple using the on-board instructions and touchscreen
    operation
    •Capable of predicting the need for maintenance or calibration to allow scheduled maintenance
    which minimizes downtime from unexpected failures
    •EXAxt stores the results of the last five calibrations to predict when sensor drift exceeds selected
    limits

    FUNCTIONALITY
    •EXAxt 450 includes two current outputs to transmit process variables or used for control outputs
    •The graphical LCD displays up to three dynamic variables and trend graph of the primary variable
    •The four SPDT contacts can be configured as HI/LO contact outputs, or as control outputs to
    solenoids or metering pumps
    •The output can be pulse length or pulse frequency controlled using the PID control function

  • SC450 Analyzer

    The model SC450 is designed to measure specific conductivity with contacting electrodes. This method is proven to offer very high measurement accuracy especially in pure and ultra pure water applications. The SC450 has a self-tuning pre-amplifier that eliminates measuring errors associated with cabling and reduces polarization caused by high conductivities and cell fouling. The integrity of the signal across the electrodes is monitored continuously to activate a call for maintenance or a fail message in the rare occasion that cell fouling would cause erratic readings. The standard SC450 covers almost all Conductivity Applications including all special software functions in the standard analyzers to reduce the number of configurations. This results in less inventory and less training needs for users that have multiple Conductivity applications.
