Capacitive

Capacitive point level sensors are used in homogeneous liquids and bulk solids in tanks and pipes that provide stable electrical measuring conditions. They are used for overfill protection, dry run protections, oil/water detection and foam detection.

    Receiving tank for hazardous waste

    Hazardous waste can include lacquers, paints and thinners, as well as acids, alkalis and mixtures. At hazardous waste treatment facilities, environmentally harmful substances are converted into environmentally safe ones. Before treatment, the liquid hazardous waste is collected in receiving tanks. Level measuring systems ensure the automated, monitored operation of the facility, thereby protecting human health and the environment.

    Separation vessel

    These processes often involve the separation of water-based media from hydrocarbons. In most applications, the upper, lighter medium is electrically non-conductive. Guided radar level measurement makes use of the effect that non-conductive media allow some of the radar energy to pass through, thus enabling a measurement of the interface between the water-based lower medium and the hydrocarbons.

    Chocolate storage tank

    After the “conching” process the liquid chocolate is kept in large tanks for further processing. An agitator stirs the chocolate “mass” to maintain a uniform consistency and temperature in the vessel. A reliable level measurement is required in both the chocolate tank and the downstream filler hoppers to control the production process.

    Applications:

    Coal stockpile

    After being unloaded from rail cars or ships, the coal is stored in stockpiles. Here, reliable measuring systems that function properly in any kind of weather are essential for level monitoring and belt positioning.

    Coal surge bin II

    In a typical coal power plant, lignite (soft coal) and anthracite (hard coal) are stored temporarily in bins up to 30 meters high. To ensure that the coal belts are continuously loaded without interruption, a robust and reliable level measuring system is required. Additional point level detectors are used to prevent any overfilling of the bins.

    Silo for ready mixed asphalt

    Different qualities are required from the asphalt depending on the usage and climatic conditions, so every asphalt mixture varies depending on the application. Asphalt is always extremely viscous, hot and highly adhesive. Due to these properties and the numerous different asphalt mixtures, reliable level measurement and point level detection methods are essential.

    Shaker

    Through the effects of strong vibration in the shaker, the liquid and solid components of the drilling mud returning from the borehole are separated from each other. The drilled rock and the sand are disposed of and the valuable drilling mud is fed back into the continuous drilling process. Level measurement and point level detection are absolutely necessary for effective processing of the drilling mud in the shaker.
